Grand Theft Auto 5: 10 Great Cars That Are Easy To Miss (2024)

Cars and the Grand Theft Auto series have always been two peas in a pod. Stealing cars and showing off flashy or wacky vehicles is part of the fun of Grand Theft Auto 5, and with the highly anticipated GTA 6, many cars will obviously be present, even some that could make a possible return to the franchise.

However, for now, GTA 5 remains the latest and current entry for the Grand Theft Auto series. While GTA Online might contain a larger number of cars to drive and steal, some of which can sell for extreme prices, the story mode still has a vast amount of great cars in rivalry with its multiplayer mode, yet not all are as easy to find as others.

10 Epsilon Tractor

Found During The 'Unknowing The Truth' Mission

While not exactly a vehicle that comes to mind when thinking of GTA, the Epsilon Tractor is still unique nonetheless. With poor stats all around, it features a special license plate with the catchphrase of the cult it belonged to, with said cult being the only way to obtain this tractor, involving one of the most interesting side mission stories.

At the end of the 'Unknowing the Truth' mission, this tractor will be open for collection, allowing Michael to drive away on a slow, albeit unique, piece of motoring that will surely leave the police quaking in their boots.

9 Truffade Z-Type

Available from the 'Eye In The Sky' Mission

A unique-looking car among the plethora within GTA 5, which is saying something, the Z-Type can reach surprisingly high speeds. Just watch out for its other stats, as they are quite low in comparison to its speed.

During the 'Eye in the Sky' mission, steal the Z-Type and drive it back to Franklin's garage. Close the garage door then drive the Z-Type outside and purposely fail the mission by running away. Once the mission has failed, exit it, and retrieve the Z-Type from the Vehicle Impound to drive it freely.

8 Albany Roosevelt

Found In Backlot City Parking Lot / 2848 Milton Road, Vinewood Hills

With the addition of the Valentine's Day Massacre update released in February 2014, players could explore Los Santos to discover a new vehicle ripe for the taking. The Albany Roosevelt is a Sports Classic car, and players can merrily break the window to get inside and make it their own. Players will certainly feel like it's the Prohibition era when they drive this 1920s classic around.

If players want to get their hands on the Albany Roosevelt, then there are a few spots that make it easy to miss. Players might be able to find it in Backlot City, the film studio in Los Santos. Alternatively, they can head to Milton Road in Vinewood Hills, and see who is unlucky enough to have parked such a beauty outside with no security.

7 BF Bifta

Found On Vespucci Beach, Banham Canyon, And Palomino Avenue

Originally introduced in 2013 with the first content update, the Beach Bum Pack. Fitting with the vision of the update, the Bifta allows players to cruise off-road in a buggy that has very high mobility midair and is able to turn easily for smooth landings.

There are three locations to grab this car: one at the northern point of Banham Canyon, one in southeast Vespucci Beach on Bay City Avenue, and one in the southeast of Palomino Avenue within Vespucci.

6 Dewbauchee JB 700

Can Be Found During The 'Deep Inside' Mission

The JB 700 is a new entry to the GTA series, with an appearance that looks like it came straight out of a James Bond film, complete with the weapons that would make 007 proud, and found in a seemingly unsurprising.

During the 'Deep Inside' mission, steal this car and then park it inside Franklin's garage. Make sure the door has been closed, then retrieve the car and drive it outside onto the street. Fail the mission deliberately by running away which will then allow the acquisition of the JB 700 from the Vehicle Impound.

5 Vapid Liberator

Can Spawn At The Rebel Radio Building Within The Grand Senora Desert

The release of the Independence Day Special brought the Liberator onto the shores of San Andreas, allowing players to crush and roll over any other car that they see fit. With a very high acceleration stat, the Liberator works both off-road and on-road.

The Vapid Liberator is a very simple vehicle to acquire, spawning at the Rebel Radio Station. However, the chance isn't guaranteed, so coming back to the location after some time has passed may yield the monster truck.

4 Pegassi Vacca

Found During The Missions 'Wrap Up' and 'Meltdown'

A very reliable ride that doesn't seem to get as much attention as other high-performing vehicles in GTA 5, the Vacca blends all the desirables of a car into one neat package that falls just short compared to its rivals. Found only a few times throughout the game, the Vacca lets players cruise around at high speeds that make its acquisition worth it.

During the mission 'The Wrap Up' a Vacca can be found at the entrance of the Kortz Centre. Once in control of the car, they purposely fail and exit the mission to keep the Vacca in the open world. Store it in a personal garage for safekeeping.

In the mission 'Meltdown' a Vacca will be outside the Oriental Theatre after Michael leaves the building. Simply drive the car back to Michael's garage and park it within to use it.

3 Grotti Cheetah

Found During The 'I Fought The Law' Mission

A very quick and agile car, the Cheetah is only available during one mission. With statistics that show why the Cheetah is so desirable, it is one of the fastest cars, only marginally losing to some of its speedier competitors.

During one of the most notable missions, 'I Fought The Law', once the Entity XF and Cheetah have been repossessed by Michael and Trevor respectively, play as Trevor and drive back to his garage. Park the Cheetah in the garage and make sure the door has closed, then drive the car outside and fail the mission by running away. Pick it up from the Vehicle Impound and a Grotti Cheetah will be available to traverse the open-world with.

2 Truffade Adder

Can Spawn In Portola Drive, Rockford Hills & Before The 'I Fought The Law' Mission

The Truffade Adder made its appearance in GTA 5 and is quite clearly based on the Bugatti Veyron, a popular vehicle that seems almost instantly recognizable, with it following its real-life counterpart as one of the fastest cars in Los Santos. Despite being somewhat phased out in GTA Online in the fastest car category due to the introduction of other cars, it is still one of the best options to use in the story mode.

While there are some others, such as the Progen T20, or the Pegassi Osiris that can rival it, the Adder still undoubtedly remains one of the best. To find the Adder via the 'I Fought The Law' mission, disrupt the meeting with Devin by shooting near him. Simply take the parked Adder, as he will have run away.

1 Overflod Entity XF

Available During The 'I Fought The Law' Mission

While another version of the Entity has been added to the game since GTA 5's release, the XXR, the XF remains the original, being a fast, zippy car that can, at times, make an argument for the best ride available in the story mode.

During the 'I Fought The Law' mission, once Michael and Trevor have caught up with the speeding Entity XF and Cheetah, stay in control of Michael to get the Entity XF. Drive back to Michael's garage, get out, and close the door. Drive the Entity onto the street and fail the mission by running away. Once done, exit the mission and head to the Vehicle Impound to acquire the Entity XF for personal use.
